What Does Excessive Salivation Indicate?

I had a hysterectomy plus ovaries and fallopian tubes last week. Also had a sling and lifting of bladder and rectum. I'm 79. Surgery was daVinci robotic. Two days ago I started having excess salivation. I take cimetidine for acid reflux and I started taking it at dinner instead of at breakfast. Could one of these things be affecting the saliva production?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query excessive salivation seems to be due to gastritis ,peptic ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux as body release excess saliva in these conditions to reduce acidity .

I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination to find out exact cause and to rule out other conditions by ordering endoscopy test.Doctor may prescribe antibiotics for H.pylori bacteria of , medicine for reduction of acid like rabeprazole and ranitidine. For now chew a clove 2 times a day and take indian gooseberry powder with warm water after each meal. Walk after every meal and do not lay on bed immediately after having food.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
