Hello,

Your husband is suffering from chest pain for the last three nights, he is uncomfortable and can't sleep. He has history of heart attack. You are advised to get your husband clinically examined by a Cardiologist or take him to the ER, before his symptoms get worse and it becomes a medical emergency.

He should get stress test, lipid profile, EKG, Echocardiography, X-ray, blood tests, blood sugar (R and F), etc., done to detect any developing coronary artery disease. If diabetic or hypertensive, control his blood glucose level and blood pressure at all cost. Give him healthy home made balanced nutritious food.

He should not take processed food, packaged food, trans fat, full fat dairy products, refined flour, limit the carbohydrate intake, he should avoid taking red meat, no spicy-oily food, etc. He should take home made food cooked in olive oil like lean meat, veggies, well cooked whole cereals, boiled food, fruits, berries, nuts and dry fruits in appropriate amount. He should do regular walking and if obese maintain healthy weight. He should stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
