What Does Centerosperior Disc Bulge In MRI Report Suggest?
Hi,
MRI Reports shows :-
1.L3-4 Centerosperior disc bulge.
2.L4-5 Mild diffuse posterior disc bulge.
Kindly advise :-
1.Is it serious disease ?
2.For recovery is it enough to stay in bed relax for a couple of weeks avoiding clinical treatments ?
Many thanks in advance for your possible prompt reply.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of MRI report is as follows: The inter-vertebral discs at levels L3-L4 and L4-L5 i.e. lumbar region show bulges in two different directions. If not managed in time, the disc can undergo complete prolapse. Prolapse of disc can compress the nerve roots and can cause altered sensations in the region supplied by the respective nerves. Bulging of the inter-vertebral discs can be managed initially by complete bed rest and pain-killers if pain is troublesome. I suggest you take complete bed rest and also to consult your orthopedician.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
