What Does Burning Sensation In The Abdomen Indicate?

I m a 54 year old white male 5 10.5 and 225 lbs. I don t drink or do drugs. When I lay on my side at night I feel a burning sensation in my gut. When I lie on my back it subsides. Originally the burning occurs more when I lie on my left side, but now I also feel it when I lay on my right side. I eat tums, yogurt, celery, or probiotics which seems to help my stomach a little bit for a little while, but I worry a lot so I wonder if I have an ulcer. Also, I worry if my gallbladder or pancreas is involved. The pain seems to be right of my belly button about 2 inches and an inch higher.

Hi,
thank you for your question at healthcare magic.
From the symptoms you have mentioned, you most likely have dyspeptic issues - meaning, you most likely suffer from symptoms of hyperacidity.
This could be just mild erosions, or just hyperacidity or it could also be an ulcer.
However, since you mention that you worry a lot it could also be Non ulcer dyspepsia which is a benign condition in which there is no ulcer but patients usually feel symptoms of dyspepsia and it is prevalent in people who tend to worry alot.
This is, however, a diagnosis of exclusion and you can get definite diagsis by an upper GI endoscopy.
I hope this helps.
Thank you once again for dropping by healthcare magic.
