What Does A Skin Growth In The Navel Indicate?

The is a 6 in. area from my navel up, about 3 in. wide of very firm tissue. It is apparent when I lay down. Five years ago I had surgery to separate my adhered colon from my abdomen wall. Could this be the same? I m 60, 135 lbs, 5 4 and in decent health.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

For your case, should have a good physical examination of the navel area to evaluate the very firm tissue.

Yes, it might be related to adherent colon you experienced previously, however we should rule out other possible skin affections like lipoma or possible umbilical hernia.

Get an immediate consultation with general surgeon to check it out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
