What Does A Shadow On The Liver Of A Child Signify?

My daughter had an X-ray today and her pediatrician called to tell me the radiologist said my daughter should get a CT scan with contrast tomorrow. He said he may have seen a shadow on her liver but it could be that she s very skinny. Should I be concerned? Her insurance said it takes 3 days to get the referral for the scan.

Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.
As far as CT SCAN is concerned, its not an emergency. You can wait three days for your scan. It may be HEMANGIOMA in liver which is needs to be investigated.
Meanwhile stay calm and follow your doctor advice.
Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask
Regards
Dr Saad Sultan
