What Does A Lump On The Spine Indicate?

My daughter, 22 years old noticed a mount of skin along the side of her spine in the middle back. No particular pain but she sometimes feel tense in that area. The surface of her skin partially looks discolored along her spine. What doctor should she see, a dermatologist or an orthopedist?

Hello,

Since when is she suffering from this problem? Any history of itching or rash previously.

Possible causes are herpes zoster healed with pigmentation, or tenia infection healed with pigmentation, or fixed drug eruption or congenital mole etc.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your dermatologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
