Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Saddiq-ul-Abidin. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

Calcium score is made on the basis of plaques present in our vessels. These plaques take up calcium which shows in the test and the plaques are the ones which cause vessel stenosis(narrowing) which eventually can lead to ischemic diseases of heart.

Your score is pretty high, it means that your plaque load is quite high. Total is high too but total calcium score is never much helpful in deciding further strategy.

May be all your heart vessels have equal amount of plaque (calcium) or may be just one artery is loaded with loads of plaque, so treatment strategy will depend upon knowing where is most amount of coronary narrowing present so that something can be done about it.

It's better to nip the evil in the bud, I will suggest you to do something about it before you get a heart even. For this I will suggest you to meet you cardiologist immediately to discuss further steps.

MY SUGGESTIONS:

1) Life style change:
-Reduce weight.
-Eat healthy.
-Work out.
-Control risk factors, >weight, smoking, diabetes, sedentary lifestyle ,cholesterol.

2) See your doctor and discuss further plan.
3) Follow his instruction , take regular medicine.
4) Keep a careful follow-up with doctor.
5) Educate yourself with knowledge of heart diseases their control and management.
6) Educate others.

I hope this answered your question. If you have more queries I am happy to answer.Otherwise rate and close the discussion
