What Does A Burning Small Spot On The Spine Indicate?

I have a small spot on the left side of my spine, approximate at the base of my ribs which intermittently burns like someone touched me with a lit cigarette. It occurs about every five minutes. This am it felt more like a bug was biting me. It has progressively gotten significantly more painful during the day. YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

By your history and description, the possibility of dermatome infection by herpes zoster is more likely. Herpes zoster is a skin infection. It typical infect thoracic dermatomes and cause burning pain which is worsening.

So better to consult a dermatologist and get done a clinical examination of a painful spot. You are may need acyclovir, pregabalin and methylcobalamin tablets. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
