What Does A Bump On The On The Bottom Of The Neck Indicate?

My 20 year old daughter has a bump on the right side of her neck, close to the bottom of her hair line. It s tender to the touch and has been there for at least one month. The veins on that side of her neck leading up to her ear are more prominent than on the left side.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many causes of bumps in the neck. The most common bumps or swellings are enlarged lymph nodes. These can be caused by bacterial or viral infections, cancer (malignancy), or other rare causes. I suggest you to make some examinations like blood test, X-ray of the chest abdominal ultrasound and consult with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
