What Does TSH Of 0.20 Indicate?

Hi there I am 42 year old female and recently had some routine bloodwork. I am to see my doctor again next week to go over it, however in the meantime all I do is seem to try and find out what my results mean. My TSH is 0.20 and my T4 Free was 10.3 The research I have done is coming up as secondary hypothyroidism. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

TSH depends on value of t3 and t4. If either of t3 , or t4 is high and TSH is low then this is a typical case of hyperthyroidism.

However if TSH is low as well as t3 / t4 are low then yes it is secondadary hypothyroidism which is rare.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
