What Does Salmonella Typhi O 1/80 Dilution Positive Mean?
My Daughter is 4 years old. She is having very high fever for the last 3 days. Did a blood test. Haematology everything except Neutrophils ( 61) is within the parameters. But Serology, Salmonella Typhi O is 1/ 80 Dilution Positive & Salmonella Typhi H is 1/40 Dilution positive. What is the implication of this? Is this a Typhoid? The baby is been administered Amox 475. IS this the right treatment? Please advice.

Hello, Thnx to contact us. If I am your treating doctor I would like to advice you that widal test having a titre above 1:160 is considered positive for widal. Your report is showing negative for widal. Your baby is having high neutrophil count, it means there must be some bacterial infection. Doctor has give amoxicillin which is antibacterial antibiotic, so treatment administerd is correct. What is the exact diagnosis is not known by your report.
