What Do Upper Right Lobe Infiltrates@ On An X-ray Report Suggest?
I undergone treatment for PTB june 2016 to december 2016, I haven t had any xray then, because I got pregnant August 2016 while taking my medecines, I gave birth May 21,2017 and always attacked by my ashtma, and it s hard for me to breath when I m in bed (I heard whizzing sometimes when I lay down)and now I went to my doctor and gave me co amoxiclav 625mg and salbutamol+guaefenesin tablet started taking October 18,2017, and had my xray ang got my result just yesterday, and result is upper right lobe infiltrates, ptb considered. what does it means ?

welcome to hcm ..mam upper right lobe infiltrates means two possibilities
1 ..it is fresh tb as some person even after complete and successful cure again develop tb ...not all but some
2 ..it may be healed past tb as the xray shadows persist for upto 6 months to 1 year after successful cure of tb
now what symptoms you are giving it may or may not be tb ..
For confirmation of tb ..please undergo sputum test of 2 samples under microscope for tb bacteria ..it is done free of cost in govt hospitals in india
and next is raised ESR and raised lymphocytes in TLC DLC
besides this chest and tb specialist are well qualified to distinguish between healed and fresh tb on chest xray
last option is chest CT scan and CB NAAT test also available at govt hospital
i advise tlc ..dlc ...esr ...sputum test and chest xray reading by chest and tb doctor along with your symptoms will clear the doubt
till the tb doubt is clear take the medicines as you are taking...in post tb cases if symptoms persist and tb tests are normal i also advise ct chest
