What Do The Glucose And Triglyceride Levels In My Blood Test Result Indicate?
hi my doctor had some blood tests done, but this was without fasting the appt was about 2-3 pm and most of the results look pretty good. I was concerned about the glucose level 164, and the tryglyceride level 269 all the rest looked good. what about these? I m 59 and have to loose about 5-10 lbs
The glucose levels indicate if you are diabetic or not. With the levels you mentioned, I suggest you see a doctor as you might need to start anti diabetic medications. For the triglyceride levels, it indicates lipid profile which is crucial. To lower down the triglyceride levels along with medicines, regular exercise and diet modification is needed which will also help you in weight reduction. You can visit a diabetologist or a cardiologist for further management regarding the medicines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
