What Do The Inhibin Test Numbers Of A 73-year-old Indicate?

I am 73 years old and had a GCT with a complete hysterectomy on 12/13. At that time my InhibinB test was 10. My Inhibin test numbers have gone as follows: 3/15 was 21, 6/15 was 15, 3/16 was 27 and on 6/16 the number was 36. Why are they increasing? Is this something to be concerned about?

Hello,

Firstly I need to know if you underwent hysterectomy alone or oophorectomy as well.

Inhibin is a hormone that is produced by ovaries, if these are not removed along with the uterus then it's going to be raised.

In your case it is a tumor marker after the procedure and its levels are measured to see the disease activity.

I am afraid your levels are on a rising trend, you should see your surgeon doctor as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
