Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been told for several years that I have a fatty liver. I had lab work done 2 weeks ago. My Alkalin phosphate was 141 AST 73 ALT 53. Are these numbers extremely high and what should I do to bring those numbers down. I don t eat fatty foods but I have a poor appetite & skip a lot of meals. Also I may have about 6 oz. of red wine every night. Can that be causing my elevated levels?
Fatty liver can be due to alcohol consumption/fatty food intake. Your figures are on the higher side but not that much high. You need to consult your doctor to find out the reason for fatty liver wit elevated liver enzymes. All the best.
