What Do Swollen Lymph Nodes Behind The Ears Indicate?

i believe my lymph nodes most be inflamed because in the last 24 hours pea-sized hard bumps have formed behind my ears and on my head and sometimes itch. and my throat has felt very thick and constricted. could this be attributed to an allergic reaction? regardless, i would very much like some remedy suggestions. thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Well, itchy pea sized lumps can be due to allergic reaction and there can be some swollen lymph nodes too. But, I suspect that all the lumps are not lymph nodes and could be due to allergic reaction.

So first of all consult an Emergency room or a Physician and get evaluated, a blood test can be done to rule out the cause.

In case if it is allergic reaction then anti-allergics like Allegra or Benadryl can help.
If there is infection then antibiotics can be advised. Also, do cool compresses over the lumps.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
