What Do Small, Raised Red Bumps On Upper Abdomen Suggest?

I am a 21 year old female and have had chicken pox at age 13. Other than that i have had no serious medical issues. I just noticed about 5 small raised red bumps on my upper abdominal. They do not itch or cause pain. I hope it isnt the start of shingles, but if it were i believe it would hurt or itch?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, yes, shingles rash is usually painful and associated with burning etc but rarely may present initially without these symptoms. A dermatologist review for other conditions like bacterial rash or allergic rash or dermatitis should be ruled out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
