we thought our house got infested by bed bugs but now not sure if its scabies myself has bites on back of neck and head and the bug seems to burrow my partner who is disabled has sores or leasion all over that just pop on there own start to bleed and severe itching help
Itchy bumps with severe itching all over the body seem to be most probably due to an allergic reaction. It can be due to causes like any foods or medicines, skin irritants like soaps, detergents, poison ivy, leather, latex, bed bugs, etcetera. Bleeding can be due to scratching of the itchy bumps. I would suggest you consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like allergic tests can be done.
The allergist can advise to oral anti-allergic as well as injectable steroids for relief. As of now, he can take anti-allergics like Levocetirizine, Allegra to control the itching and swelling. Do cool compresses. Application of calamine lotion can help in soothing the skin. He can also instill immunotherapy that will help in reducing the severity and frequency of allergic attack.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
