What Do Headache, Warm Body And Stuffy Nose In A Child Indicate?

My daughter who is eight years old is complaining of a headache, she has no fever though her temples feel warm, her body is hot, and she has a stuffy nose with sneezing. Besides all those symptoms as soon as I picked her up from school this morning she has been sleeping all day and has not eaten. Should I be concerned and take her to the emergency room, or should I just give her some medicine and put her back to bed?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms of headache, warm body, stuffy nose and sneezing can be due to few causes like Viral infection or upper respiratory tract infection, sinusitis etc..
I would suggest you to give her a course of antibiotics like Amoxicillin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, tylenol to stabilize body temperature, steam inhalations, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine and anti allergics like Benadryl..

Steam inhalations and warm saline gargles will help..
Using a humidifier in room can ease in breathing moist air..
Give her ample of rest and sipping warm water throughout the day..
Feed her with warm fluids like soups, broath etc..
Give her a soft diet..

In case if still there is no improvement consult an Otolaryngologist or Paediatrician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
