What Do Grey Lesions On A Pap Smear Test Report Suggest?

I recently had a pap smear for the first time, and I am 23 years old. The nurse called me today stating that my results came back showing some gray lesions and that we will repeat the test again next year to monitor it. Does this mean pre cancer cells? I need clarification of these gray lesions please

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Pap smear is not based on the colour of the lesion. The grey lesion may be inconclusive spots and they are not suggestive of cancer. Cervical cancer is very very unlikely at this age.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
