What Do CT Scan Test Results Indicate?

My son had a CT scan today, paperwork from his results say there s trace partial opacification of the left mastoid air cell. Also noted visualized paranasal sinuses and right mastoid air cells appear clear aside from mucous retention cyst or polyp in the left maxillary sinus and minimal mucosal thickening of the ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses. Can you explain in non medical terms what this could be?

Hi,

In simple words, Partial opacification in left mastoid cells could be due to Inflammation?/ Infection?

Minimal mucosal thickening of ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses due to mild Inflammation? (?sinusitis). Other things look normal only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
