What Could Yellow Fluids Form The Spinal Tap Test Be?

I had a spinal tap done as part of a muscular sclerosis test to determine whether I had MS or not. This was done almost 35 years ago. About every two years there is a build-up of a puss-like substance that needs to be squeezed. The substance seems to squirt from the same hole that doctors where they inserted the needle. I am currently experiencing the worst that it has been. There are enormous amounts of yellowish fluids in combination with solid matter. This has gone on for 5 days. It seems to have spread. What is this substance? What should I do?

Hi welcome to HCM,

This could be an infection of spinal meningeal coverings-localized superficial abscess.i strongly recommend you to have an MRI scan of your lumbar region.
This can accurately detect the extent of pus/yellow fluids emanating from.
There is a high risk of this infection/pus spreading into other areas of brain and spinal cord.Treatment includes high dose Steroids and antibiotics like Vancomycin.Consult an expert neurosurgeon at the earliest with the scan reports.
Thank you.
Take care
