What Could Worms In Feces Of Children Suggest?

my grand daughter is almost 13 and told me she has worms in her feces, she recently Wednesday went to her DR because she was having pain in her lower right abdomen, took blood and sent for ultra sound, nothing was detected right away and now has appt for Tuesday to go over results. Would blood workd detect worms and how long they have been there, she is very frail and small in weight

i appreciate your concern about your grand daughter's health
round or pin worms are are very common parasites in the human intestines or tummy.they appear as white small thread like things in feaces.they cause weight loss and sometimes itching at anal area at night.they can also cause decrease Hb level.
dont worry your grand daughter's just need to be dewormed with a dose of albendazole.give her healthy food.she will start gaining weight once dewormed.the dose can be repeated every 6 months
stay healthy
