What Could Severe Vaginal Itching, Soreness And Swelling Post Childbirth Mean?

After the birth of my last child, I was informed of odd cells on my cervix. I never followed up due to lack of insurance. I have been having a light period, continuously, for over 3 months now and have recently begun to experience severe vaginal itching, swelling and soreness. I am worried but because of lack of insurance, I cannot seek help. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that you might be having cervical erosion or cervicitis producing some vaginal discharge giving rise itching and soreness.
You might require,
Vaginal swab examination,
If require cervical biopsy as there is h/o odd cells on cervix.
If you are not having insurance but this testing is a must to rule out any pathology in cervix.
Meanwhile you can go for one antibiotic medicine course for 5-7 days.
Keep local hygiene clean and dry.
Ok and take care.
