What Could Severe Bleeding With Clots Indicate, Being Treated With Birth Control Pills?
I am a 43yr old woman I am having problems with my menstrual cycle. I was bleeding very heavy with big blood clots and a lot of them. I went to my physician to check it out. When they gave me a physical she said I needed to take a blood test to check my blood levels. I told her I had no insurance. She sent me home because I did not have insurance and told me to go to the hosp if the bleeding got worse. 4 days later I went to the emergency room. I had to have 2 units of blood. Then they doc there gave me something to stop the bleeding. I started hurting really bad the next morning. I had slow down bleeding but it made the pressure I was feeling even more intense. So she put me on birth control and sent me home knowing I was still bleeding and in pain. She gave me a pain pill before I left. when I got home the pain hit and a lot of blood started coming out with even more blood clots. I called the hosp back the doc called me back. She said take three of the birth control at the same time. I was shocked but I did it anyways. Then there was a unbearable stinging and pressure in my stomach. The pain and nausea was really bad. I started vomiting and bleeding at the same time. Now I am still spotting constantly. My stomach is very sore. I am scared. The doc said keep taking the birth control.
Hi, I totally understand your concerns. Please do not take more than one birth control pill. It will cause side effects like nausea and vomit. I suggest you to take tablet tranexamic acid as it helps stop bleeding. Also if you continue to bleed you need a cleaning of your womb (uterus ) which is called dilatation and curettage in medical terminology . Also get a sonography of uterus done to see the cause of bleeding which could be fibroids also. Feel free to contact us for further queries.
