What Could Painful Edema All Over The Body With Anxiety Indicate?

My son is 22. He has major edema all over his body. It is chronic causing him pain and suffering anxiety. I am wondering if his issue is systemic and caused by allergies. He has issues with alcohol and I think part of this is driven by his rash. He has a doctor appt this week but I don t want them to just give him a cream. I want to get to the root cause. What should we ask for

Hi,

You should ask your doctor the following:
* Full clinical evaluation and examination
* Tests of blood: CBC, urea, creatinine, cortisol, sugar, liver functions and as per the clinical presentation seen by a doctor for additional investigations
* Ultrasound of abdomen with color doppler for renal arteries
* Alcohol is known to cause allergies and edema all over body hence to stop alcohol
* Anxiety may be reduced with proper treatment of internal problems or may need additional anti-anxiety medications
