What Could Hard Lump On The Outside Of Lower Left Leg Indicate?

Hi i am male 21 years old and i have a 5mm hard lump on the outside of my lover left leg. It is under the skin and it is very hard ball which i can move around but it seems fixed to the skin above. when i pinch it deeper on both sides it feels like 2 smaller balls rubbing on eachother but on the skin it looks like a round dermatofibroma. I think i have a couple dermatofibromas on the same leg for a couple of years but this one doesn t seem like the other ones, it doesn t make a dimple sign when i pinch it and it is deeper then the rest of them. It doesn t hurt and it isn t tender. If you could help me understand what it is i would be very grateful. Thanks :)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Hard lump on the outside of the lower leg are indicative of a tumor, lipoma, cyst, boil, abscess, gout, OA, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a surgeon or GP. Get imaging tests and biopsy done to detect the pathology. Cut on carbohydrate and sugar for better and faster healing. Abscess can be drained and antiseptic dressing done. Lipoma or benign tumor may be removed by surgery. Treatment with medicines and surgery helps better healing. Do not touch or scratch it, neglect may result in worsening of the symptoms. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
