Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Your symptoms suggest that you have a hormone imbalance which is likely to have caused the breakthrough bleed. Dark color of the discharge is seen with old collection. Such instances are transient and self-corrective mostly. If at all, a course of progesterone is needed to put the cycle back on track. If the discharge is persistent, please see a specialist for further evaluation and management. Please maintain a healthy lifestyle. Hope this helps.
