What Could Causes Dry Mouth And Numbness In High Blood Pressure Patients?

my wife, age 78, overweight, high blood pressure, has had dry mouth for several years and has always been cold, even when others are comfortable. For the last week, she has been increasingly experiencing the need to get warmer. After lunch in a cold restaurant today, she has developed chills, her tongue is tingling, she was shaking when she ate dinner, and her hands started turning blue with some numbness while at the restaurant.Any suggestions?

Hi,

In my opinion, if her blood pressure is under control, then she should have her blood sugar levels checked including HbA1c levels. If these levels are also normal, then, these symptoms of yours may be due to hypothyroidism. Hence in my opinion, you need to be tested for your thyroid profile and if there is any abnormality, you are advised to be treated accordingly.

However, if all these tests are also normal, then you are advised to see your doctor for evaluation of your symptoms and treatment accordingly, if required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
