What Could Cause Renal Failure?

My cousin is in ICU. They have done a lot of tests, done over tests and nothing is resulting to an idea of what is going on. She has lost a lot of weight. She has renal failure. She has tyroid. Also the doctors found that there is bleeding on the walls of the bowels. She is hardly urinating. She had dialysis done. They are not seeing any mass or anything like that to even suspect Cancer. It's possible it could be something rare. We just don't know what is going on. Maybe someone can give us an idea of what could be happening.
