What Could Cause Recurred Bladder Infection After Being Treated With Cipro And Nitrofurantin?

I was diagnosed with a bladder infection that had likely gone to my kidneys. I took 10 days of cipro starting the day after Christmas. The within a week of finishing that I got worse. They put me on 7 days of nitrofurantin. I hada reaction and ended up in the hospital. I have been continually worse. I have ic. The doctor thought it was a flare and did not recheck urine. I asked them to check and I still have an infection. Same bacteria. Is this the same infection? Do I need iv meds like the er mentioned? I cannot take bacterium or nitrofurantin or macrobid.
