Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a couple of episodes of heart irritation recently. They are not sharp pains but significant discomfort. They are occurring in my upper left chest. I had a heart attack 18 months ago and I am on Metoprolol only. I was taken off Effient. In both instances nitro pills relieved the events. Does this suggest anything to you?
Hello! Thank you for asking on HCM! I understand your concern about your prior heart attack and your reasonable attention for the current complains. I don't know what was the exact medical conclusion during your prion heart attack (Was it a myocardial infarction or unstable angina? Did you perform coronary angiography and what revascularisation procedure followed that? Were there stents implantation? etc). Nevertheless, whichever options could have been done in the past; I strongly recommend you to visit immediately your cardiologist, as your clinical scenario is compatible with ongoing myocardial ischemia. You should prevent a new serious heart attack and also to discuss the maintaining appropriate therapy after that. So go to your doctor to show you recent complain history, to perform an ECG, and some blood enzymes in order to confirm or rule out heart disorders. Hope to have been helpful. Greetings from Dr. Iliri
