What Could Cause Elevated Uric Acid Level?

I am 63 years old female , mild diabetic taking 500 mg cetapin XR daily... mild hypertensive, taking tenormin100 one daily.Cholesterol normal . My recent routine blood test shows uric acid level border line high & urine shows traces of albumin. I was taking Fish Oil 1000mg capsule daily one for last 3years. Is it the reason for increase in uric acid level ? Should I stop taking fish oil capsule?My FBS & PPS is 108 &112 Why trace of albumin in urine?

Hello
Since you are taking metformin X R and atenolol ( tenormin) 100 mg , so you are a patient of diabetes as well as having hyper tension i.e. liable to kidney damage .
Now you mentioned that you are also having high uric acid level with albumin in urine i.e. protein in urine .
We call this condition hyperuricemia ( when uric acid level is more than 420 micromol/L or 7.0 mg / dL).
There are so many reasons of high uric acid level , these includes .
1 Disease of kidney , diagnosis can be confirmed by M R I of both kidneys .As urine also contains so be careful about KIDNEY FUNCTION TEST as serum creatinine level , with creatine level and C PK ( BLOOD EXAMINATION ).
2 Glycogenosis lll , V, Vll , because you are a diabetic as well as hypertensive so liable to these disease.
3 Purine rich diet is also responsible for such high level of uric acid level as FISH oil may be a rich source of purine.
In my opinion first of all get in M R I of kidneys , and avoid Fish oil.
