ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, smoking can be a cause of black hairy tongue and this can lead to foreign body sensation in throat. Other causes of black hairy tongue can be fungal infection, poor oro-dental hygiene, use of antibiotics and use of certain mouth washes. Please stop smoking and use clotrimazole mouth paint. Also avoid dehydration and drink plenty of fluids and use a probiotic. In case the problem does not go, see an ENT. Regards
