What Could Blood In Urine Indicate?

Hello, Im 23 years old, and through out my life I had always had blood in my urine. I can remember when i was in grade school, i went to the doctor and pee d in a cup, and they told me i had protein in my urine. As i got older, every time i pee in a cup they tell me i have blood in my urine, and i have E-coli bacteria? I had several symptoms of pressure in my abdomin, ache in my back, frequent urinate, and they would prescribe me antibiotics. Im just worried cause im afraid it kidney cancer? What do you think? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The presence of E.coli in the urine is related to a urinary tract infection.

I suggest taking a cycle of antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin.

I also suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms.

I recommend drinking liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
