What Could Be The Reasons For Having Numbness And Tingling In Left Side Of Chest?

Hello My husband is 48 years old in general good health but recently he is complaining of numbness and tingling in left side of chest. His family history includes bp and early heart disease. Should I be concerned? We don t have health insurance right now but I ll be signing up soon. How urgent is this situation?

Hello,

Yes, you should definitely consult doctor for these symptoms because these symptoms are more suggestive of heart disease and he is having strong family history of heart diseases.

So, consult doctor and get done blood pressure monitoring, ECG, 2d echo and stress test (trade mill test).

If all these are normal, then no need to worry for heart diseases. Sometimes, simple muscle spasm can also cause similar symptoms.

So, apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest. Give him simple painkiller like Paracetamol or Ibuprofen. Don't worry, he will be alright with all these but first rule out heart diseases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
