What Could Be The Reason For Having Echoing In My Ears?

Hi,
My mum has had echoing in her ears on and off for two weeks with occasional dizzy spells and headaches at the back of her head. This generally happens whilst standing, when lying the feeling disapears!
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have echoing in ears which could be due to swimming, ear infection , ear injury , peripheral neuropathy, diabetes, and sensory nerve compression . Migraine can also cause such type of symptoms. You should avoid swimming and traveling by plane till the time your symptoms will be relieved. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper evaluation of the condition . Doctor may order CT scan , examine with otoscope , blood test and take history for trauma . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( gentamicin) , anti allergic , corticosteroid ear drops . Doctor may remove wax from ear . For now apply dry warm compresses to ear and keep your ear dry .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
