ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, the most common cause of this is GERD and taking of proton pump inhibitors helps. Another reason can be laryngopharyngeal reflux and usually responds to PPI. Foreign body feeling with osteophytes in the cervical vertebrae also can some times leads to this. Before all this, please get yourself examined by an ENT so as to rule out any mass or ulceration in the throat. Regards
