What Causes Recurring Hoarseness And Burning At Back Of Throat?
I had neissen fundoplication surgery back with repair of a hiatal hernia in July 2010. I had developed a polyp on my vocal folds related to non-acid reflux. I have noticed that I am again experiencing some chronic hoarseness and feelings of pressure in my the area of my stomach and some mild burning at the back of my throat. Are there any reports of patients having either chronic pain or reoccurence of reflux disease after this type of procedure?

There are some cases when the procedure is not successful and may lead to chronic pain or recurrent reflux. You should know that the success rate of this procedure in the first 10 years goes up to 85%. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your doctor again for a physical exam.
