What Could BP Of 130/80 To 153/88 In Males Indicate?
My husband is 32 years old and is very active. Recently he started having headaches and I started checking his blood pressure. It is ranging from 130/80 to 153/88. Is this something to be concerned with? Both of his parents have high blood pressure and a history of heart problems.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Blood pressure readings in the range of 130/80 to 153/88 are considered elevated and may indicate the development of hypertension (high blood pressure) in your husband. This can be a concern, especially since there is a family history of hypertension and heart problems.
Hypertension can lead to various health complications, such as stroke, heart attack, kidney disease, and vision loss. It is important to consult a healthcare provider to assess your husband's blood pressure and determine if any further evaluation or treatment is needed. Lifestyle modifications, such as regular exercise, a healthy diet, stress reduction, and limiting alcohol and tobacco use, can also help manage and prevent high blood pressure.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
