What Causes White Vaginal Discharge In A Teenager?
I have a 13 yr old soon to be 14yr in a couple weeks. She started her period a couple a years ago and it seemed to be pretty regular. Her last period started aroun Feb 1st. Well last Monday she was seeing blood sometimes she. She wiped and white discharge. This has continued on and off since today. She put a panty liner on today and it had blood on it. Her pediatrician ran urine test and it was negative for urinary tract infection. The results for vaginal strep are not back yet. She is currently taking antibiotics. Any suggestions?
White vaginal discharge is completely normal. The white discharge increased during ovulation and second half of menstrual cycle. However, if any odor or itching develops along with white discharge, consult a primary care provider as yeast infection should be ruled out.
