What Causes White Vaginal Discharge Along With Pain And Itching?

Hi, I recently had unprotected sex with my boyfriend about 4 days ago. After the sex I noticed a white discharge similar to a yeast infection. It doesn t smell, but does itch. A day later I see a cut on the inside of my vagina lip and didn t do anything about it, thinking it was just from the sex. Waking up the next day, I noticed three ulcer like lesions in the general area where the cut was. It s very painful, white on the inside with red on the outside. Anything I can do? Could this be herpes? Also, I just started a new birth control pill about a month ago, if that helps.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain white discharge from vagina along with itching and white dots can be due to either fungal infection causing vaginal thrush or can be due to bacterial infection causing Bacterial Vaginosis..
At times it can also be due to sexually transmitted infections like Gonorrhea, Chlamydia etc..
As it happened immediately after sex, it does not seems to be due to herpes as herpes infection has an incubtion period of 2 to 12 days and the symptoms will not appear immediately and will take atleast 2 day after exposure for the symptoms to appear.
I would suggest you to consult a Gynaecologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like vaginal swab culture and blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of bacterial infection antibiotics will be advised..
In case of fungal infection antifungal ointments, pesseries and in severe cases oral antifungal medicines can be advised..
As of now take anti allergics like Allegra to relieve itching..
Abstain from sex to prevent transmission of infection..
Keep the genitals dry and clean..
