Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have a white looking pimple or thing on the left side of the wall of my throat. It hurts when I swallow or eat or drink anything. I had a fever a couple of days ago but I got this yesterday as I was eating something. Yesterday my whole throat was hurting but now it s only that part.
The white spot on the wall of your throat occur probably due to Tonsilloliths that is tonsil stones . Tonsil stones, or tonsilloliths, are formed when this trapped debris hardens, or calcifies. This tends to happen most often in people who have chronic inflammation in their tonsils or repeated bouts of tonsillitis or upper respiratory infection . Usually small stones do not require any treatment , but if they interfere in noral function of oral cavity as in your case then it need treatment . There are many treatment options like antibiotics and surgical removal. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like sore throat, white debris and pharyngitis . For now do warm saline gargles several times a day it will help in removal of stone .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
