Hello, I have had white mouth for about a year now. Nothing can be done for it. I have been scrubbing lightly with am mixture of baking soda and salt then I swish with pure 3% peroxide, rinse and then rinse with listerine. It helps but if I don't continue it comes back. Does what I m doing cause any problems? am 81 y.o Thank you, JO
I see I have to pay. I thought first question was free
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain it seems like oral yeast infection known as Oral Candidiasis or oral thrush and it is a fungal infection and considering your age it can be due to reduced immunity and even there can be many other causes for it.. You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case if the thrush is confirmed he can advise you to take antifungal mouthwash like Nytatin mouthwash and clotrimazole lozenges for 2 weeks.. In case if it still does not resolve oral antifungals like Fluconazole can also be advised..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
