my son just woke up wheezing and complaining he could not breath. I was very upset and concerned. My husband said he is just getting a bad head cold, has gone through this with his older daughter and said we need to calm down. We have calmed my son but he is still wheezing an says it's hard to talk. he refuses to breath through his mouth, which is how he normally breaths. He does not want to breath through his mouth. while he was complaining of not being able to breath his chest got splotchy and red. My son is very healthy and athletic and has no history of asthma. I'm the stepmom and the real mom has a habit of running to the hospital. I've never seen my son gasp for air like this and it has really scared me.
