What Causes Weight Loss When Diagnosed With Chronic Kidney Disease?

my father was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease 6 years ago. he underwent hemodialysis for one year and transplant was done the following year. but now he is showing weight loss. H e lost 9 kgs over 4 weeks despite of proper diet. what can be the cause? some suggested to take protein supplements. are they safe?

Chronic kidney disease is chronic inflammation and which leads to cachexia and weight loss. Include more and more protein in your diet. If symptoms persist better to consult a nephrologist and get evaluated.
