hi
thanks for you query on HCM
you can advise and encourage your friend for regular physical exercises, consistency is more important then the vigorous exertion in one or two days of the week.
dietary restriction by avoiding fatty foods like butter, oil and junk foods
small and frequent eating 5 to 6 times a day
do not skip meals
have plenty of vegetables and fresh fruits
plenty of fluids 5 - 6 liters a day

hope this helps him/her
best luck
regards
