Hi,

The most probable causes of weight gain and stomach bloating after breast cancer are:
* Hormonal changes: Certain breast cancer treatments, such as hormone therapy or chemotherapy-induced menopause, can lead to hormonal fluctuations. Hormonal changes can affect metabolism and result in weight gain, particularly in the abdominal area.
* Reduced physical activity: Treatment side effects, fatigue, or physical limitations can lead to decreased physical activity levels. A sedentary lifestyle can contribute to weight gain and a slower metabolism.
* Emotional factors: Dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment can be emotionally challenging. Stress, anxiety, and depression may contribute to changes in eating patterns and result in weight gain or overeating.
* Medications: Some medications used in breast cancer treatment, such as steroids or hormonal therapies, can cause weight gain and bloating as side effects.
* Lymphedema: Lymphedema is a condition that can develop after breast cancer treatment, particularly after lymph node removal or radiation therapy. It causes fluid retention and swelling in the affected area, which can lead to weight gain and bloating.
* Changes in digestion: Certain treatments can affect digestion and nutrient absorption, leading to stomach bloating and discomfort.

Your healthcare team can take into account your treatment history and overall health, and provide personalized advice and strategies to manage weight gain and bloating effectively. They may recommend lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, exercise programs, or other supportive measures to help address these concerns.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
