What Causes Weakness After Protected Sex?

hi! i had paid sex 4 days back. Even though i used protection right now i am really worried about getting HIV. I have been feeling really weak for the past 3 days ,with abnormal body heat(sometimes cold/hot,but no temprature). IS it because of me taking too much tension for being infected by HIV or is it a symptom of HIV.?? Please help me. I am really scared.

Hello dear,

A. First of all, HIV cannot be diagnosed only on the basis of symptoms.
The presence of weakness and fluctuations of body temperature can either be due to fatigue or stress/ tension.
This can be managed with adequate rest and maintaining proper nutrition and hydration status.

B. There is no need to panic with thoughts of HIV infection.
To relieve your concern, you can undergo certain tests like p24 assay or PCR for HIV, which becomes positive within a week and are almost 100 % sensitive.
Even the presence of a single virus in the body can be detected by PCR.
So, if this test comes negative, you can be sure that you are safe.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
